The Chiefs Are The New Kings of the NFL

Following an impressive comeback victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57, there is one takeaway that everyone needs to know. The Kansas City Chiefs have to be yearly favourites, no matter what.

Now that may seem a little bit bold, or obvious, but as long as Patrick Mahomes and Big Red Andy Reid are employed by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Philadelphia Eagles had this stacked roster on both sides of the ball with a great combination of younger and veteran talent, Jalen Hurts had the game of his life, and all of these things went right for Philadelphia and they still lost. All the double coverage deep shots to AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts only having one turnover-worthy-play as a runner and not as a passer, the unstoppable quarterback maul, and the Chiefs missing a field goal early. All of that went right for the Eagles, and it still was not enough to stop the Chiefs in a transition year with an injured Patrick Mahomes.

Now the current wide receiver free agency class may not be much to write home about, but very solid pieces are available. Jakobi Meyers, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Odell Beckham Jr. are currently scheduled to be free agents this March. Overall a weak free agency class and although the Chiefs will not be in a position to take a premier wide receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft.

That has to terrify every NFL team and non-Chiefs fan in the NFL, the resume of Patrick Mahomes’ young career is simply remarkable. Drafted in 2017, a two-time Super Bowl Champion and two-time Super Bowl MVP. A two-time NFL MVP, a two-time First-Team All-Pro, a Second-Team All-Pro, and a five-time Pro Bowl player. He hasn’t shown any signs of regression.

Even after losing Tyreek Hill, and in a transition year, the Chiefs remain the kings of the NFL, and that’s where they will stay until dethroned.
