As a person, I love to cook and bake, especially when I am stressed. Coming to college and not having access to a kitchen is hard. I am a picky eater and I like to make things the way I like to make them. I like things quick and easy and options that I do not need to walk to the dining hall for.
One of my favorite recipes to make when I am here at college is my overnight oats. This is a fast and easy breakfast that I can have in the morning. The recipe I use is very flexible to make.
To make the overnight oats, you need:
mason jar
½ cup of oatmeal
1 cup of milk (any kind of milk, I use oat milk)
the rest is up to you
I make mine with a scoop of protein powder, a tablespoon of chia seeds, a teaspoon of honey, and ¼ cup of frozen blueberries. Mix this all together in a mason jar and leave it in your refrigerator overnight. The longer the oats stay in the fridge the better, but it’s all your preference. Also, the oats last up to a week in the fridge.
You can make these however you want, but adding protein and other stuff makes the oats more fulfilling for you to last longer throughout the day. Oats and a cup of tea in the morning keeps me going for a long time. I highly recommend trying them out sometime.
