Each year, Zeta Tau Alpha, or ZTA, has what they call a “Pink out Week.” Over the course of this week the sorority creates and hosts several events to raise money for their philanthropy, Breast Cancer Awareness.

Every month is breast cancer awareness month for ZTA but the month of October is especially important to the sorority. This year, ZTA decided to switch it up by taking a new approach. On Saturday October 18th, with the help of MPB, ZTA hosted their very first Think Pink 5K run.

Senior Vice President Sahar Ata put together this event along with the help of Rose Dolan, Matthew Gordon, Derek Mumford, Laura Dupre, and Tyler McCarthy.

Students, faculty, and members of the Merrimack Community proudly participated in the race which took place Saturday morning during Homecoming Weekend.

With over 100 participants, ZTA was thrilled that their first ever Think Pink 5K run was a huge accomplishment for their sorority. They were able to share their passion for their philanthropy and spread more awareness for the disease. This marked a record in Pink out Week history for ZTA as they raised over $1,000 dollars.
