Weekly Bri: Self Care with DIY Face Masks For Your Skin Type

Taking care of your skin is important, but what is more important is using the correct skin care for your skin type. When choosing a product that will go onto your skin, you should think about your skin’s needs. Do you have sensitive skin, dry skin, oily skin, acne prone skin? All of these skin types involve different care. If you are unsure of your skin type, check out this article. 

Chances are you are at home right now (as you should be, please stay home)! So, when you are looking for your newest face mask, why not make it yourself? Here are some easy, DIY face masks you can make with ingredients you probably have around your house!

If you have dry skin, try this! 

  • Mash 1/4 of a whole avocado 
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil 

Combine the ingredients in a bowl together, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. 

If you have oily skin, try this!

  • Mash 1/3 cup of blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Combine the ingredients in a bowl together, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. 

If you have sensitive skin, try this!

  • 1 teaspoon of cooked oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon of plain full – fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of honey 

Combine the ingredients in a bowl together, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. 

If you are prone to redness in your skin, try this!

  • 1 teaspoon of matcha
  • 1 teaspoon of aloe vera

Combine the ingredients in a bowl together, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 10 to 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. 

If you have some texture in your skin, try this!

  • 1 tablespoon of natural, plain yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder

Combine the ingredients in a bowl together, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 10 to 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. 

If you are looking for an anti- aging mask, try this!

  • 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Blend together in a food processor or blender, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 20  minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. 

If you have acne prone skin, try this!

  • 1 tablespoon of green tea (tea bag or Matcha green tea)
  • 1 tablespoons of raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 3 teaspoons of sugar (preferably brown)

Combine the ingredients in a bowl together, and spread evenly over your face. You can leave this mask on for 10 to 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water.
