Looking for something to do at night? Make sure to check out some of the bars, pubs, and restaurants around Merrimack College that are available for service every night of the week. Surrounding Merrimack College are a few hot spots that are great for grabbing a bite to eat accompanied by some good drinks.
Students gather on Tuesday nights at Park Street Pub in Andover, this is a great place to throw some darts or play a game of pool while getting a couple drinks. Conveniently located, Park Street is surrounded by many shops and other restaurants in Andover Center for people to explore. Senior Jennefer Rosa said, “The people are really nice that go to this pub and who work there, I feel at home here”. Park Street is known for their jukebox feature, where customers are allowed to pay 25 cents to play a song of their choice while they are there. Beer prices range from $3.50-$6.50. “The place where good friends meet” is the motto of Rolf’s Pub in North Andover, and they definitely live up to that. 80 % of Rolfs’ customers on Wednesday nights are Merrimack students. Rolf’s main focus is on their drinks rather than their food. Students from Merrimack tend to go to Rolf’s on Wednesday evenings, so make sure to go then to get the full experience with your fellow peers. One of the biggest hits for Thursday nights is the Claddagh Pub in Lawrence. This pub is of the largest in size that is the closest to Merrimack and has high reviews. Senior Katie Bresciani said, “The Claddagh is definitely my favorite hangout with my friends. It is a big pub and has a DJ every week which makes it more fun”. The Claddagh provides entertainment every week and is always hosting events every month. There is a photographer, with the permission of the customers, that goes around during the night taking pictures to capture the memories and there is access to them on their website. Jimmy’s Culpeppers Pub and Grill in North Andover provides over thirty beers on tap ranging from $3.50-$5.50, and a mouth-watering menu that has an array of food ranging from $5.00-%15.00. Culpeppers can have a sit-down dinner or bar vibe. There is a dining room and does allow for families with children to come, but you can also sit at the bar if it is just you and your buddies hanging out for the night. Take a trip to Mexico for the night and attend Casa Blanca that is located in two locations, both Andover and North Andover. Casa Blanca is known for their delicious chips and salsa and their tasty margaritas. This restaurant mixes it up a bit and provides everything Mexican all the way from their beer to their fajitas. Casablanca is known for their margaritas and prices range from their house margarita at $7.00 and goes up to $10.50. Other drinks and cocktails range from $6.00-$8.50.
