Everyone loves holiday songs, especially the widely popular Christmas songs that seem to appear everywhere as soon as the holiday season starts. While I personally do love the holly and jolly Christmas songs, early November is just too early to start the Mariah Carrey train. I know Thanksgiving isn’t exactly known for its songs, but I have searched the music world to find the best Thanksgiving songs that you likely didn’t know existed. Here are the top Thanksgiving songs that, yes, do exist and yes, these do count as Thanksgiving songs
This classic Thanksgiving melody is undoubtedly one of the most well-known Thanksgiving songs. Straight from the melody of the classic Peanuts movies. This one fits well as lovely background music to perfectly fit your family feast.
This beautiful, tender song is about the singer’s Thanksgiving and how he’s growing up to see his family grow too. It’s a tender reflection on how we all grow yet our families are there for us no matter what, and how we can always count on Thanksgiving to bring out family love together.
The Disney trio, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, all come together with this turkey-themed song. It tells a nice story about a turkey in a straw and ends with a nice tongue twister by Goofy himself. It’s a fun one to try to sing along to during the commercials of the holiday football game.
Pumpkin Pie is a love song of a man asking his love to save her pumpkin pie. This song is all about the most common Thanksgiving pie. It totally counts as a Thanksgiving song, pumpkin pie is one of the top desserts.
This less traditional Thanksgiving song is taken straight from a viral clip of a woman describing her large selection of Thanksgiving food, but this time remixed to a phat beat. I’m not too confident that your grandparents will be fond of this one, but I’m still going to count it as a good Thanksgiving song.
The Wiggles come in with a bop that your youngest relative will surely enjoy. It mentions potatoes and “mashed banana” so it also surely counts as another Thanksgiving song, right?
Family is a beautiful song and this upbeat tune encapsulates that feeling. I’m certainly not grasping at straws for a connection to Thanksgiving, so this one absolutely counts as a Thanksgiving song.
This classic grateful song recounts how beautiful the world is. It has a very grateful message and that thankfulness makes it a Thanksgiving song. This connection to Thanksgiving is not at all farfetched and you certainly agree! Right? Yea!
This modern a cappella remix of the classic Julie Andrew song is also very thankful. Please ignore the Christmas album it is a part of, it’s still totally in the Thanksgiving song category, please believe me.
Well, those were all the Thanksgiving songs I could gather, I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving song, and if you think you have any more songs about turkey or being thankful, good luck finding any through the behemoth that is all the Christmas songs. Happy Holidays!
