Augie’s Pub is a hot spot on campus located in Sparky’s Place, where students who are 21+ can come together to socialize and enjoy each other’s company while having refreshments sold by Merrimack Dining.
Augie’s Pub also offers special event nights, where students of all ages are welcome to come in and join the fun. Alyssa Cyr, Assistant Director of Student Involvement at Merrimack, says that some of these events include “karaoke nights, trivia nights, bingo, singer/songwriters, paint nights, etc.”
While events are consistently taking place at Augie’s throughout the school year, the only nights that the pub typically gets a lot of guests are on Thursdays. Augie’s usually sees next to no one on Friday and Saturday nights.
Most students are interested in going elsewhere on campus and some even go off-campus on the weekends.
“I don’t go to Augie’s on Friday and Saturday nights because I don’t like doing the same thing every night,” said senior Maddy Michel. “I like to change it up and go off campus or hang out with my friends, some that are under 21 and can’t go to Augie’s.”
Despite the popular Thursday night Augie’s run, Augie’s Pub keeps its doors open Thursday through Sunday from 8:30p.m. to 1a.m.
One upcoming event taking place at Augie’s includes a Halloween Costume Party Friday, Oct. 28 from 9p.m. to 11p.m. The event is sponsored by the Merrimack Programming Board and the Commuter Student Association.
