On September 28th the United States Football League (USFL) and XFL released a joint statement stating their intention to merge the two leagues into one to improve professional spring football. The two leagues intend to pool their players, coaches, staff, and resources to continue to develop their league, players, coaches, and staff in the future. This is just an announcement and the merger is not confirmed so at any time the leagues can either follow through or cancel the merger. There will be an update at a later date to keep everyone in the loop on the result of this announcement.
