The holiday season is in full swing which means plenty of food and plenty of family. When we think of Thanksgiving, we think about being surrounded by a big feast and every family member we can think of. Sometimes we can forget about others in the world that might not have that same privilege.

Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks, but also a time for giving. Here at Merrimack College, the Campus Ministry is hosting a Thanksgiving Basket Drive. The group is working with Neighbors in Need, a food drive in Lawrence, to make sure that at-risk families are able to spend Thanksgiving eating a delicious meal.

A donation of just one basket can mean that one family can be fed. The drive hopes to beat the 92 boxes that were collected last year and has a goal of collecting 100.

Neighbors in Need is looking for donations of items like frozen turkey, fresh vegetables, stuffing mix, desserts, coffee, and napkins.

For those interested, boxes can be dropped off at Cascia Hall on Nov. 22 between 7:30a.m. and 10:00a.m.
