It’s Day 21 of our Christmas Movie Countdown! We’ve taken a look at a few films exclusive to Netflix, but this one isn’t as well known. Released in 2017, A Christmas Prince tells a rather distinctive story that’s unlike anything we’ve seen on this list. When it comes to the movies that we watch during the holiday season, it’s always interesting to experience brand new films for the first time that might become future classics down the line.
A Christmas Prince follows Amber Moore, a journalist who travels to the country of Aldovia to attend a press conference held by Prince Richard after his father’s recent passing. Amber is mistaken for an American tutor for Richard’s sister Emily and finds herself interacting with the royal family. After Amber and Richard begin to get to know each other, Emily tells Amber that Richard’s spoiled cousin Simon is the one set to inherit the throne.
The storyline present in the film is pretty linear for the most part and can be a little bit cheesy sometimes, but it still delivers as a solid Christmastime viewing experience. It does take a little bit for the Christmas focused part of the plot to get going, but things don’t drag on for very long. A Christmas Prince also received two sequels in 2018 and 2019, but you really can’t beat the original. We’ve one got three more days to go. Christmas day is almost upon us!
