Thanksgiving Food Power Rankings

Thanksgiving; a holiday that people all across the United States look forward to every year. Why do people get excited you might ask? Well Thanksgiving is one of the simplest holidays on the yearly calendar, but people get excited absolutely delicious food that gets put on the table.

Several people have different opinions on what foods are the best, but here are my power rankings for thanksgiving food.

  • Mashed Potatoes

You’re entire plate on thanksgiving day comes down to the mashed potatoes. It can make or ruin your meal all depending on the quality of your mashed potatoes.

  1. Turkey

The staple, what the holiday itself is built upon. The only reason it is not number one on this list is because it is very hard to mess up turkey. It’s as simple as it gets and balances the plate nicely, giving you a nice protein option.

  1. Corn

A nice addition to have alongside your mashed potatoes. Very hard to mess it up as well so that’s why it’s so high on this list. If you don’t have the corn it takes away from the mashed potatoes so it needs to be in the top 5.

  1. Stuffing

This is really depending on how quality your stuffing is. If it’s low quality stuffing you can entirely pass up on the stuffing part of your plate, but if it’s high quality and delicious stuffing it is a must have. It makes things taste just that much better when you put everything on your plate together inside the next thing on our list.

  1. Pie

You’re go to for dessert on Thanksgiving. There is so many ways to make it and that puts it pretty high on this list. Whether it’s apple, blueberry, or pumpkin pie, it’s hard to go wrong when you heat it up and have a nice side of vanilla ice cream.

  1. Rolls

Nothing beats a nice, hot roll. Something that you can eat with pretty much any meal out there, but it’s very important for your meal on Thanksgiving. When you butter it up and make a “do it yourself” Turkey Gobbler, it is to die for and you would be able to have that without a nice roll.

  1. Gravy

Not an essential for your meal, but can be very good. Something that is pretty simple and is also very hard to mess up. You basically put everything on your plate, but then pour the gravy all over your completely full dish.

  1. Green Bean Casserole

A nice option to spice up your plate that gives you a semi healthy option. One of the most diverse dishes you can make on this holiday. Although it’s something you can easily pass up for something else that wouldn’t be as healthy for you.

  1. Cranberry

Whether it is in a sauce or the actual fruit itself cranberry is something that you can totally pass up on Thanksgiving. This puts it last on this list.

  1. Squash

The worst option on Thanksgiving. It doesn’t matter how you make it, there’s very little that’s good about it. Some people put marshmallow on it to help the flavor that’s how bad it is.
