Pop star, Sabrina Carpenter, just recently dropped her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, on August 29, 2025 and it was once again a huge hit on the charts. The album was Number one on the Billboard 200 chart in September and earned 366,000 equivalent album units in its first week which became Carpenter’s biggest week of her career according to Billboard. Previously, Carpenter’s 2024 album, Short n’ Sweet, which was released right around the same time, was her first Number one on the charts.
It was no surprise to me that Man’s Best Friend was just as successful as last September’s Short n’ Sweet due to the impeccable timing of her release. Short n’ Sweet made such a large splash last fall that it takes listeners like me back to that time of year whenever we go back for another listen. I personally loved the songs on Short n’ Sweet so much that the album has become a nostalgic symbol of the fall season for me and I adore that. The songs take me back to junior year of college, apple picking with my roommates, and getting ready to go out on a cool, September night. Hence why I was beyond excited to hear Carpenter’s plans of releasing Man’s Best Friend right around the same time.
Both of Carpenter’s fall albums offer a perfect mix of satirical, witty songs as well as slower, emotional songs. Some of my favorites include “Dumb & Poetic,” “Coincidence,” “Sharpest Tool,” and “Good Graces,” off of Short n’ Sweet in addition to “Nobody’s Son,” “When Did You Get Hot?,” and “House Tour,” from Man’s Best Friend. If you haven’t given either of these albums a listen yet then you are in for a treat. Sabrina Carpenter has, without a doubt, made her mark on the fall season and I am a huge fan.
