Richie’s Fantasy Booms, Busts & Sleepers: Week 14

Richie DiMarzo

Quarterback Booms

Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers has been a sensational sight to watch this season and this week he has a game against a team that he never disappoints against. He is going against the Chicago Bears who are ranked #26 against quarterbacks this season and I think Rodgers will tear them apart this season. Rodgers “owns” the Chicago Bears and he always dominates them whenever he goes against them so I can see Rodgers having a historical day against his rival team.

Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes has a huge game this week in a divisional matchup against the Raiders who they need to beat this week. The Raiders are ranked #22 against quarterbacks this season and I think the Chiefs offense will shine. I expect Mahomes to have an absolutely huge day in a game where he knows he will have to find the end zone so many times I expect him to kill it for your fantasy team.

Lamar Jackson: Lamar is such a great fantasy quarterback because of his rushing upside and how good he is in the run and pass game. This week he has a huge matchup against the Cleveland Browns who Lamar is very familiar with. The Browns are ranked #15 against quarterbacks this season and I think Lamar will have a much better performance than he did against this team the last time they faced off.

Quarterback Busts

Kyler Murray: Murray just had a great performance against the Bears, but I think with a tough matchup this week he will not excel like he previously did. He is going up against the Rams this week who are ranked #7 against quarterbacks this season and I think names like Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey will be all over Murray. This is a huge game for the Rams to win as well and I think they will shut down Murray at all costs.

Matt Stafford: This Monday night game is something I anticipate to be very low scoring and this is why I have both Stafford and Murray not projected to play well at all. The Cardinals defense is ranked #3 against quarterbacks this season and I think they will be all over Stafford. Stafford seems to struggle against tough defenses and I just can’t see him performing well for your fantasy teams.

Josh Allen: Allen absolutely struggled against a tough Patriots defense and I think he will struggle again against a strong Buccaneers defense. The Bucs have been dominant all year and I feel in a very important game they will lock down Josh Allen and the Bills offense. I don’t expect much out of Allen this week and I won’t be surprised if he flops again for your fantasy team. Allen also hasn’t looked too sharp lately and I don’t know when he will pick it up.

Quarterback Sleeper

Dak Prescott: Dak has been sort of hit or miss this season and, so he is becoming justifiable to be on this sleeper list. This week he has a great matchup against Washington who is ranked as the worst defense against quarterbacks this season. This gives Dak a huge opportunity to win a huge divisional game and have an absolute field day on this weak defense. He is a great option in any league this week.

Running Back Booms

Alvin Kamara: Coming off of a couple of weeks off due to injuries Kamara is faced with a very easy matchup this week. He faces off against the Jets who are ranked as the worst defense against running backs this season and I think Kamara should eat up. We all know what Kamara is capable of when he is healthy and I think the Saints have been very cautious bringing him back and have waited until he is at 100%. Prepare for a huge day out of #41 this week.

Najee Harris: Harris has been sensational this season, especially for a rookie and I think his usage is the reason he will always produce. Last week Najee played 97% of the offensive snaps which is an absolutely mind boggling statistic. He faces off against a weaker Vikings defense who isn’t particularly great against the run and I think he can have a big day. I expect to see Najee in the endzone at least once on Thursday and for him to carry your fantasy teams this week.

Leonard Fournette: Fournette has turned into one of the most valuable pieces in this Buccaneers offense and it is so hard to not think they will get him involved in this big game against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are a very good defense, but I think with the level of play Fournette has been producing he can still put up numbers. Fournette is a threat in the pass and run game and I expect him to find the endzone at least once this week.

Running Back Busts

Nick Chubb: Chubb has been slowly declining this season as the Browns are slowly falling off and I think his production will stay down this week. He faces off against the Baltimore Ravens who is ranked #6 against running backs this season and I think they will shut down Chubb. This Baltimore defense has been scary to watch and I think they will give no room for Nick Chubb to succeed on Sunday.

Alexander Mattison: Mattison has done a great job stepping in for the injured Dalvin Cook this season, but I don’t think he will continue that dominant rain. He is facing off against a tough Pittsburgh defense who is clawing for a playoff spot and I think they will do everything to shut Mattison down. I do not expect Mattison to see the end zone at all and I think it is going to be a very rough day for the back up running back.

Aaron Jones: Aaron Jones has honestly been fighting for his starting spot due to injuries and the excellence of A.J. Dillon. This week Jones faces off against the Chicago Bears who are a great run defense and I think they will get dominated in the pass game not the run game. Jones’ production will certainly be slowed in Sunday’s contest and I don’t expect to see him be utilized in the red zone very much as well.

Running Back Sleeper

Javonte Williams: WIlliams has been one of the most slept on running backs this season and I think he is sensational. The Broncos are finally starting to use him more and I think with a good matchup this week he will have a huge game. He faces off against the Detroit Lions who are ranked #29 against running backs this season and I think he can have a huge day. Expect him to pop off for your fantasy team as he is an amazing sleeper option.

Wide Receiver Booms

Justin Jefferson: Jefferson has been one of the most impressive receivers this season and I think he will absolutely keep it up this Thursday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This defense is ranked #24 against wide receivers this season and I think Jefferson can ball out against this team. He has emerged as a top deep threat in this league and he is a guy that is so hard to cover and not many secondaries can keep up with him.

Diontae Johnson: Diontae has to be the most underrated receiver in this league and he has emerged as a top receiver in front of our eyes. He faces off against the Vikings this week who are ranked #31 against wide receivers which is second to last in this league. Diontae should have a huge day with these numbers and I can see him finding the end zone multiple times like he did last week.

Stefon Diggs: Diggs has been on and off, but he has still managed to be the overall ninth best receiver this season and I think he can pop off this week. He faces off against the Buccaneers in a game where the Bills will need to score and he will have a big part in it. Even though he hasn’t produced crazy numbers the Bills love to utilize him and I think against a Bucs defense who is ranked #17 against wide receivers this season and he can put up numbers and a good game.

Wide Receiver Busts

DeAndre Hopkins: Hopkins has just been so hard to trust in fantasy this season and this is due to his low target share. I think DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best receivers in the league, but last week he was only targeted twice and that is way too little. He has a tough matchup as well against Jalen Ramsey and the Rams and I can’t see Hopkins performing well at all on Monday Night.

Ja’Marr Chase: Chase has slowly fallen off as he was a top receiver at the beginning of the season and I think that cold streak will continue. He faces off against the 49er’s who have been a pretty decent defense this season and I think they will give Chase some problems. He has had some crucial drops as well in the past few weeks and I think this will also contribute to his bad production this week.

Amari Cooper: Cooper has been anything, but a wide receiver one this season and I think he will show that this week as well. Lamb has taken over that offense and in a tough matchup against a hot Washington Football team I don’t see Cooper producing much. The Football Team is going to lock down Cooper and I feel Cede Lamb will have a big bulk of the stats this game and this will lead to Cooper’s downfall.

Wide Receiver Sleeper

Hunter Renfrow: Renfrow has been quietly a great receiver this season and I think he will continue this run against the Chiefs. The Chiefs haven’t been able to stop any offenses this season and the Raiders always give the Chiefs a good game. I think they will get Renfrow involved in this game and this can lead him to have a huge game on Sunday. I expect Renfrow to see the end zone this game and put up big numbers.

Tight End Booms

Darren Waller: Waller is coming off of an injury this week and I think he will bounce back better than ever. He has a huge matchup against the Chiefs this week in a must win game for the Raiders and I don’t doubt that he will make an impact. The Chiefs are ranked #25 against tight ends this season and I think he will have a field day against this defense. This is a spot where Waller can definitely redeem himself and I can’t see a time where he doesn’t perform well.

Travis Kelce: Kelce has been a little inconsistent this season, but overall this is nothing you should be afraid of. He is facing off against a bad Raiders defense who is ranked #31 against tight ends this season which is second to last in the NFL. This is a huge opportunity for Travis to pop off and have a huge game against the Riders. I expect Travis to have an absolutely huge game and find the endzone at least once.

Tight End Busts

Mark Andrews: Andrews has been a great tight end this season, but this week with a tough matchup I think his performance can be hindered. The Browns are ranked #15 against tight ends this season which is about middle of the pack, but I think they will key in on Mark Andrews. Andrews will have a hard time against this defense especially since they recently played them, look for the defense to key in on Andrews.

T.J. Hockenson: Hockenson has been very inconsistent this season and I think this week he will have a hard time. They are facing off against the Denver Broncos who have a great defense. The broncos are ranked #5 against tight ends this season and I think they will shut Hockenson down. Hockenson also has a pretty bad quarterback who I don’t see getting the job done at all.

Tight End Sleeper

Noah Fant: Fant has been pretty average this season, but I think he can turn it up this week. He faces off against the Lions who have been absolutely terrible this season and they are ranked #14 against tight ends this season which is pretty decent, but overall this defense has been atrocious. I expect Fant to find the endzone at least once this game and this is why he is my sleeper for week 14.
