Matt O’Connor: Editor-In-Chief
The Merrimack College Community is grieving after the devastating loss of Aidan Dorgan. Dorgan was a 2025 graduate of Merrimack College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and recognition of his academic achievement in mathematics as a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon honor society. He was enrolled as a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at the time of his death.
Aidan was a beloved and active member of the Merrimack community. During his time on campus, he attended the 2025 Research and Creative Achievement Conference where he was part of a team that led a presentation surrounding robots meant to aid in specific tasks.
After he received his bachelor’s degree, Aidan would go on to be hired by General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, as an engineer. Aidan was also a proud hockey player who played for his team at North Providence High School for the Providence Capitals and in the Eastern Hockey Federation.
During his time at Merrimack College, on the rink and while building boats, Aidan was a hard worker and a valued member of every community that he was a part of. He will be deeply missed.
A GoFundMe has been organized by Aidan’s family in support of his younger brother and sister.
