Recap: Annual Fenway Park Career Fair

For the past few years, Fenway Park has hosted an annual career fair, which features some of the top communication and media companies in the New England area. Students from around the country come to network with them hoping to land an internship, or even possibly a full time job. When I heard about the opportunities that arise out of this event, I immediately bought the pass to attend with other friends.

Roughly 800 people came to the event this year, and a few even came from Toronto, Canada, just for the event. One student stated, “I flew in from Waterloo, ON, which is about an hour southwest of Toronto. Others came from across states, such as Ohio.

When I arrived we had to check in and we were greeted by tables from places like Entercom, the Lowell Spinners, the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox, all of which have positions open in multiple areas. Not all of the booths were companies looking for employees or interns, some were looking for graduate students at reputable universities, such as Northeastern and Boston College.

The event started roughly at 12:00 p.m., and went until 4:00 p.m. when we were told to come back a bit later to receive a replica ring for the World Series. All in all, the event was an interesting experience and I highly recommend other students interested in communication or media attend in future years.
