Autumn is here, and what better way to celebrate fall than going on excursions in the surrounding area of Merrimack College. Here are the top three places everyone should go to this fall.
Smolak Farms
Smolak Farms is on the places that is a must and it is located right in North Andover, MA. There are fresh baked goods every day. Try one of their cider donuts or pies. For activities, there are hayrides, pumpkin picking, and apple picking. They have many animals to pet and see. Further, the farm is a great place for photo ops too.
Colby Farm
Do you keep seeing Instagram posts of people in the sea of sunflowers? Are you wondering where the never ending sunflower field is? The sunflowers are located at Colby Farm in Newburyport, MA. You have to catch the field at the right time though. Sunflowers, although beautiful, are not extremely colorful and vibrant for long. The best time to see them is in September, usually around the middle of the month. The Farm is active on Facebook and their website, telling people the status of the flower field so be sure to check that before you go.
Salem, MA
The last place everyone should visit is Salem, MA. Salem is a wicked good time in the fall and during Halloween season. The Witch City is filled with so much history, derived from witchcraft allegations and the Salem Witch Trials in the past, that is fun and festive to embrace during Halloween time. You can visit The Salem Witch Museum, The House of Seven Gables, or the Witch House and walk around the city to see the historical sites. If you want to be daring, stay after the sun sets and go on one of the walking tours. Some of the walking tours are Candlelit Ghostly & Graveyard Walking Tours which visits many haunted locations in Salem. Another tour, is the Bewitched After Dark Walking Tours where you learn about what really happened during the Salem Witch Trials.
Winter is quickly approaching so embrace the Autumn activities because it really is the most festive time of year.
