Merrimack’s Adam Clark wins 4th NEC Rookie of the Week

Jack Lawhorne – Student Reporter

NORTH ANDOVER, Ma. – In Saturday’s 74-55 win over Saint Francis University, Merrimack Men’s Basketball had one player particularly stand out.

Adam “Budd” Clark, the Philadelphia native, went off for a career-high 30 points, converting 11-20 from the field. Clark also accounted for 4 assists as well as 4 steals while going 6-6 from the free-throw line.

His 30 points were the most an NEC freshman has scored since Bryant’s Adam Grant’s 32 against SHU on January 14th, 2017.

All of that led him to collecting his fourth Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, which tied Saint Francis’s Eli Wilborn.

This season, “Budd” averages the second most points (11.3) and assists (3.7) among NEC freshmen. He leads the conference in steals (2.3) which is good for 20th in the NCAA.

You can catch “Budd” and his boys back in action on Saturday at 3 PM in Lawler. Where the Warriors will take on Central Connecticut, the only team ahead of them in the conference standings.
