What a weekend for the Warriors! With two games back to back the Warriors start the season with an even 1 to 1 record against a nationally ranked team. Friday night’s game was a tricky one, with most of the second period being a battle to catch up to No. 7 Clarkson’s 3 goals. While they did manage to catch up, the third period did not go the way they would have wanted. Clarkson gained another three goals to end the game Warriors, 3 and Golden Knights, 6. Saturday night’s game however came with some very positive turn around. Not only did the Warriors score 5 goals to Clarkson’s 3, but their performance led to some big stars in Hockey East. Freshman goalie Lauren Lyons was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, with her forty three saves. Junior Hailey Eikos, earned herself Hockey East Defender of the Week, with her 3 points and 3 assists, two of which were opening and game winning goals. Congratulations ladies on your accomplishments and congratulations to the Warriors on a fantastic start to the regular season!
