After Merrimack College’s third year in Division 1 athletics and the Northeast Conference the Merrimack College Men’s Lacrosse has made the move to the America East Conference which makes it the eighth lacrosse team in the conference. They are the second NEC team alongside Bryant University to have made the move to the AE this season. While in the Northeast Conference Merrimack had a conference record of 7-8 and an overall record of 12-18. During the 2022 season, Merrimack had a 6-6 overall season record and a 3-4 conference record. In 2021 Merrimack had a 5-5 overall season record and a 4-4 conference record. In 2020 Merrimack had a 1-5 overall record and a 0-0 conference record as a result of the season being canceled following the March 7th game due to COVID-19. As a result of the Warriors making the switch to the America East Conference opens the door for the team to compete against stronger competitors like the University of Denver, the University at Albany, and Duke University. If Merrimack continues to grow and stay on its current trajectory there is no doubt that in a few years, Merrimack can rise to the top of the AE conference.
