On Saturday, March 25, 2023 the newest chapter of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor society was established at Merrimack College. Merrimack’s Tau Beta Pi chapter is the 261st chapter of Tau Beta Pi. For over half a decade Merrimack students have worked very hard and have been dedicated to ensuring all requirements were met to become a chapter of Tau Beta Pi. There were a total of 43 new initiates that comprised 16 current undergraduate students, 26 alumni, and 1 Eminent Engineer.

Tau Beta Pi is the nation’s second-oldest honor society and is the only engineering honor society that represents the entire engineering profession. It was founded to represent those who were conferred honor by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character in engineering. Some notable Tau Beta Pi members include Andy Grove, Jeff Bezos, Charles Draper, and James Van Allan.
