Making It a Home-y Holiday Season

“There’s no place like home for the holidays” rings true for most of us. At this point in the semester, Thanksgiving break is such a tease and most of us are itching to get back home into our more comfortable beds and real food (sorry Sparkys!) However, whether you’re dreading finals and or in need of a pick me up to get you back in the holiday spirit, Smolak Farms hosts holiday

activities every weekend that are free for adults! On Fridays in December from 10:00am – 12:00pm, Smolak Farms Greenhouse hosts ornament and cookie decorating! What’s better than a free gift to give to a friend or family member, and free cookies?!

On Saturdays in December from 10:00am – 3:00pm, Smolak Farms downstairs barn transforms into “Santa’s Workshop” where you can make, take home, and eat (for free!) “reindeer feed” and enjoy the beautiful christmas decoration and lights. Ornaments will be sold for $3.00, as well as refreshments and train rides.

If you’re less into social events and more into a fun holiday experience with your friends, for just $2 a student, Smolak Farms will host a private cookie decorating event for you and your friends where you’ll also get hot chocolate and an apple cider donut (yum).

After finals are over, when you do finally get back to home, make sure you spend quality time with your friends and family. There’s no better time than this season celebrating so many holidays and ringing in the new years with the people that mean the most to you! Seasons greetings to all, until next semester.
