MACKtoberfest

By Alex Tasiopoulos

MACKtoberfest, Merrimack College’s annual celebration of fall and the kickoff to Homecoming Weekend, was held Oct. 17  prior to the first Men’s Hockey Game of the season.

The celebration consisted of a variety of foods and beverages (including apple cider and deep-fried Oreos) and a 21+ beer garden. In addition, there were a number of activities and other features including pumpkin decorating, face painting, caricature drawings, and a live band. The band performed covers of many popular songs and was well received, and people were very happy with the caricature art.

Merrimack student Emma Theberge said that “there were a decent variety of activities” and “I enjoyed the pumpkin decorating.” However she also complained that “there were long lines” and wished for “more things to do.”

Nonetheless, the general consensus seemed to be that the event was a good time and with very good food.
