Last year Merrimack athletics made the tremendous feat of turning our beloved Lawler Ice Rink into a full basketball arena. They are continuing this trend into the 2022-2023 season. This Friday Lawler Basketball Court will be back at 7 p.m. when the Warriors play the Boston University Terriers.
Last year Lawler Rink had sold out for the first game against LeHigh, and all you saw was a sea of yellow in the crowd. The stage was set, the crowd was ready, and the boys walked away with a huge win. We all hope to bring back this energy and help the boys walk away with another win to help with the unfortunate start of the season.
Senior Jordan McKoy, had spoken about the experience playing in Lawler. He had mentioned that the arena “gives off a sort of high major type feel and is definitely a nice change of pace for us as players and the fans…”. So make sure to come and support the men’s basketball team this weekend as they battle the Terriers.
