Last Saturday, on September 23rd, Merrimack College Football experienced a tough 27-30 loss to Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. This Saturday, September 23rd, at 12:00pm, the 1-3 Merrimack College Football team will travel down to Fairfield, Connecticut to face off against the 1-3 Sacred Heart University Pioneers at Campus Field. This should be an exciting game since the Warriors overall record against the Pioneers is 2 wins and 3 losses. The first time Merrimack played Sacred Heart was back in 1996, when Sacred Heart defeated Merrimack 3 to 20. The second matchup was in 1997 where Merrimack defeated Sacred Heart 17 to 7. Fast forward to more recent times. In the spring of 2021, Merrimack lost to Sacred Heart 9 to 26 and in the fall of 2021, Merrimack lost to Sacred Heart 10 to 20. Last year, in 2022, Merrimack defeated Sacred Heart 31 to 25 at Duane Stadium. If Merrimack beats Sacred Heart this weekend, the Warriors overall record against the Pioneers will be tied with 3 wins and 3 losses and will make their next matchup even more exciting.
