The Library Cafe: Lunch with a View

Within the past couple of weeks, a few changes have been made to Merrimack’s meal options. Dunkin Donuts is back and running from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm seven days a week. Plus, a campus-wide favorite returned, but with a new addition: the Library Cafe.

The latest addition to this popular place to grab a bite is the McQuade Pizzeria, which has a beautiful deck for members of the Merrimack community to enjoy a meal. It overlooks the Palmisano bridge, which is another popular spot on campus. Shall we say lunch with a view?

The Library Cafe is very similar to how it was run in the past, with coffees, pastries, and a sandwich for any time of day available to students. It also has a new line of Teavana teas, so definitely keep your eyes peeled for those if you’re an avid tea drinker.

“They’re very organized and kind, making for a great environment,” sophomore Kayla Dixon said.

The McQuade Pizzeria offers students a meal swipe option, unlike the Library Cafe. Each swipe includes two pieces of pizza, a salad with your choice of dressing, a drink, and a cookie or piece of fruit.

Each piece of pizza is the size of two regularly sized pizzas, so in reality, students are getting half a pizza for a meal swipe! This is a great option for students who live in on or off-campus apartments because this meal option is very easy to stretch over the course of a few days.

“The pizza there, for whatever reason, is better than Sparky’s, in my opinion. It is so nice to be able to sit out with the covering over you and look at the fountains and the pretty campus,” sophomore Rebecca Needleman said.

The salad is especially handy for students who like to prepare their own food. Students can put their choice of meat and toppings on their salads at their leisure.

If you’re on the hunt for a new on campus spot and want to switch up your usual, check out the Library Cafe!
