It’s that time of year again when you’re swamped with work and school and yet the only thing on your mind is “What am I going to be for Halloween?” Some of us tend to go the funny route, while others just want to look good. Halloween is all about being someone else for just one night. If you are anything like me, you bought your costume the minute September ended. If you are having trouble figuring out what is hot versus what is not this Halloween, then let me be your guide.
If you are all about pop culture, then why not be one of the characters from a favorite TV. show or movie?
Star-studded: Harley Quinn from “Suicide Squad” is just the right amount of pretty and crazy at the same time. Start by spraying one ponytail red and the other one blue. Smear on some red lipstick and lather on some edgy eye makeup. All you need now is the “Daddy’s Little Monster Suicide Squad” tee with a pair of blue and red shorts. Maybe even add a studded-belt and high heel boots for a little more flair. Do you think that Halloween is a joke? Well it can be if you decide to wear a purple trench coat and black pants this Halloween as The Joker. Ha, ha, ha.
Prison break: Does all this schoolwork make you feel like you are locked in prison? Why not pretend you are a real prisoner then? “Orange is the New Black’s” main character Piper Chapman sports a simple wardrobe, creating a simple look for this year’s Halloween. All you need is an orange jumpsuit and maybe a blonde wig. Or you could throw on a security officer uniform and be one of the prison guards that patrols their prison all day long.
Hunting for ghosts: Ever find yourself wondering if ghosts are real? Well in “Ghostbusters” they sure are. The movie came back this year with a group of ladies on the hunt for some ghosts. All you need is a tan jumpsuit that says “Ghostbusters” on it. Better yet, you could just throw on a button down, tie, and some khakis and be Kevin the sexy secretary from “Ghostbusters.” Desperately want the costume? Who are you going to call? Ghostbusters!
Chasing zombies: Wish you were spending your time fighting off zombies instead of dealing with midterms? Wear a leather vest, some olive-colored pants and a bandana around your head, or maybe even grab a weapon to fight off all the zombies. Michonne from “The Walking Dead” is the baddest girl around, and you can be too this Halloween. Toss on a leather jacket, slick your hair back, put on a mustache, and wear some dark pants and this way you can be as terrifying and tough as Negan is from “The Walking Dead”
