Cole Cameron ‘23

With a new semester comes new clubs and new opportunities to get involved on campus socially. An exciting new club has appeared this semester; the Anime Club. With Cole Cameron (me) as the president of this club, it is sure to be a fun and exciting way to meet new people with similar interests.

What is anime?

To those who do not know, anime is basically Japanese cartoons. It is animated movies and television shows meant for a Japanese audience. The distinct style of anime resembles colorful characters with big eyes and sparkly hair, although anime comes in many different art styles and narratives.

What will the club be doing?

This club plans to watch anime and discuss it. It is meant to be a social club, so we plan to make it interactive and fun. We will watch a new anime every week or continue watching the same anime, or maybe even a movie once in a while.

When and where will the club meet?

The club is all set to meet on Tuesdays at 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the McQuade Library Auditorium. That is the basement of the library on campus. Our first meeting will be on February 8th.

As the president of the club, I cannot wait for it to begin! If the anime club sparks interest for you, come on by.
