Known for his top hits “Gonna Wanna Tonight,” “Ready Set Roll,” and “Carolina Can,” country artist Chase Rice will be making an appearance at this year’s spring concert.
Students have mixed feelings about the artist this year. “I don’t listen to country at all, so I am not really excited,” said student Mary Levine. “But I am still going to go for the comradery. I wish it could have been The Weeknd.
“I love country and I am excited about the concert, but I also wouldn’t mind if it were a rap/hip hop artist,” said student Juliann Galligani.
Others are excited to attend the concert with friends in celebration of the last week of classes for the semester. “He’s a good artist,” said Tim Kress. “He puts on a good show.”
An 18+ performance, Merrimack will welcome Rice to campus on Thursday, May 4 in Lawler Rink. Doors open at 7p.m. and the show begins at 8p.m. Doors will close 30 minutes after the headliner, LoCash, takes place.
Student tickets have been on sale since March 22 on the third floor of the Sak and tickets will increase from $25 to $30 after April 4. Each student is limited to one ticket for themselves and two extra community tickets. Community tickets for those whose friends or family want to attend began selling on March 27 and are priced at $35.
