Kristin Schmidt, Senior (Women’s Cross Country)

Where are you from?

I’m from a little town called Athens, New York, which is about 3 hours from here.

What is your major?

Athletic Training

How long have you been running cross country for?

I started running track in 7th grade and into high school. My school didn’t have a cross country team until my junior year and that’s when I began.

What has been the highlight of your season so far?

My highlight thus far has been winning the Kirsh Cup as a team a few weeks back and individually making the all conference team last week.

What do you want to accomplish by the end of the season?

I would love to make the all region team, and to have our team qualify for nationals.

What is the key to achieving that goal?

It all comes down to this last and final race this Sunday. We’ve all put in the time, training all the way through summer until now. We just have to execute our race tactics and work as a team. If we do that, then we will be really successful this weekend.
