Men’s Cross Country

Where are you from?

Millville, Mass.

What’s your major?

Computer Science

How long have you been Running cross country? Did you play other sports before college?

I have been running cross country for eight years now, and I actually used to play hockey in high school if you can believe that.

Who is your biggest competition this season?

Our biggest competition definitely comes from within our conference, which is the best in the region. Teams like Franklin Pierce, Stonehill, and AIC present an especially big challenge for us due to their outstanding depth.

What has been the best moment in the season thus far?

Personally, my best moment was at the UMASS Dartmouth invitational where I ran the 2nd fastest 8k in school history (25:34). We also performed very well at that meet as a team. We had a tight pack of guys running together and some guys ran some big PRs that day.

Who are some of your key players?

Its really tough to pinpoint the key runners to our team. We have some great underclassmen that have really stepped up for us this year, and the key to our success is really going to be to for everyone to stay healthy and for our upperclassmen to step up and lead by example.

What are some of your goals for the season?

At the beginning of the year we wanted to be a top four team in the conference, top five in the region, and have five runners make Academic All-American.

Sydney Bowker (Senior, Captain)

Field Hockey

Where are you from?

I am from upstate New York. It is called Niskayuna and is near Saratoga Springs.

What’s your major?

I am a double major in Marketing and Economics.

How long have you been playing Field Hockey? Did you play other sports before college?

I have been playing field hockey since I was in sixth grade. That was the first competitive level that my school offered. I also played basketball throughout my entire life. That was my first sport.

Who is your biggest competition this season?

Our league is top heavy this season with four really competitive teams. Stonehill, Assumption and St. A’s have all had successful seasons so far. And we play them all in the next two weeks.

What has been the best moment in the season thus far?

Thus far the best moment has been beating Stonehill 4-2 at home earlier in the year.

Who are some of your key players?

This year we have one of the most talented teams that I have been apart of in college. Our starters and bench all consist with key players that we can call on at any time.

What are some of your goals for the season?

Our first goal is to win the regular season and get a bye into the NE-10 playoffs. But our ultimate goal is returning back to NCAA’s for the third year and winning a National Championship.
