Bridget Gilroy ‘14, Staff Writer

Mr. Takeout Grill & Deli is located on Haverhill Street in Andover. It offers a variety of pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, wings and salads which are available for takeout or delivery. Mr. Takeout started as a small convenience store known as The Grocery Bag and was taken over by George Howie in 1977 who expanded the business to make fresh deli sandwiches. Mr. Takeout prides itself on the concept of “Quality, service and speed.” This establishment prides itself on the quality of their products as well as their superb service, making sure that everyone who walks in is treated as a person and not a number. Speed is also an important aspect of Mr. Takeout as they know people do not have time to stand in line.

Mr. Takeout has hand tossed pizzas and calzones that are made to order. They both range in price from $7.99 for a large pizza or calzone to $11.99. They have reasonably priced dinners such as chicken fingers, angus cheeseburger, penne and meatballs or sausage that range in price from $6.99 to $7.95. Mr. Takeout also offers a variety of sides such as waffle fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, mac & cheese bites, jalapeños poppers and fried dough bites which all range from $2.50 to $5.95. If you are in the mood for a deli sandwich you have a variety of options like tuna salad, chicken salad, roast beef, Italian, crabmeat salad, BLT and several more. You can get these on a small sub or a large sub with the small subs ranging from $4.75 to $5.49 and the large subs ranging from $5.25 to $5.99. Mr. Takeout also offers a variety of hot sandwiches with similar sizes and prices with options like steak and cheese, buffalo chicken, chicken parmesan, chicken fajita and many more. If you are more of a wing person, they offer regular and boneless wings at $6.99 for 8 wings and $9.99 for 12 wings. Customers have a plethora of choices when it comes to what sauce to put on their wings like buffalo, inferno, BBQ, sweet & spicy and many more. Mr. Takeout is also vegetarian friendly with a number of options such as a veggie burger, assorted salads and eggplant parmesan.

Ben Knox ’14 is a customer of Mr. Takeout and says, “The food is great with a good menu, the staff is super friendly and is looking to become more popular with the Merrimack College students!” The next time you are looking to try something new, head over to Mr. Takeout or order it for delivery!
