A Poem: Fall Flat

By Madeline Federle

Imagine a world without hatred.
Imagine a world with no pain,
a world where everyone was comfortable being emotionally naked.
What more could we possibly want to gain?

And that’s it…
A world where everyone is accepted for who they truly are
is a world worth loving every bit.
But it’s sad to think we have yet to come this far.

Imagine a world where no one accepted.
Imagine a world with too many tears,
a world that everyone feels disconnected
and reality becomes our greatest fears.

But our world has become not much more than that
and it will not be noticed until we all fall flat.
