Merrimack to Host Discussion with Author of “Think Like a Feminist”

Melissa Zimdars

Faculty Advisor

On Wednesday, September 23, Merrimack College will host a discussion with Carol Hay, who is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at UMass Lowell, about her new book, “Think Like a Feminist: The Philosophy Behind the Revolution.”

“‘Think Like a Feminist’ is equally a feminist starter kit and an advanced refresher course, connecting longstanding controversies to today‚Äôs headlines,” WBUR wrote in a review of the book. “In a time when the word feminism triggers all sorts of responses, many of them conflicting and misinformed, Professor Carol Hay provides this balanced, clarifying, and inspiring examination of what it truly means to be a feminist today.”

An excerpt of the book is available to read at APA Blog.

The discussion is sponsored by The Social Justice Program, the Philosophy Department, the Women’s & Gender Studies Department, and the Writers House.

The discussion will take place via Zoom from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Individuals interested in participating need to register in advance.
