Athletic Director Glenn Hofmann was placed on paid leave Monday and is under investigation by the college.
Merrimack hired a Boston law firm, Bingham McCutcheon, to investigate Hofmann, but according to reports by the Eagle-Tribune of North Andover, the investigation does not currently involve police or the district attorney. According to sources, the locks on Hofmann’s office in the Volpe Athletic Complex were changed Monday morning, and Hofmann was escorted off campus.
His wife, Suzanne Hofmann, has worked at Merrimack since the winter and is currently assistant vice president for advancement communications and marketing. The college will not comment on her employment status.
