With Hofmann on Leave, O’Keefe Oversees Athletics

Dean O’Keefe, Merrimack’s senior associate athletic director, was quoted as the Interim Director of Athletics in a story on the Merrimack Athletics homepage that was posted yesterday. O’Keefe, enters his fifth year at Merrimack, and has been second in command to Athletic Director Glenn Hofmann.

Hofmann was placed on paid leave on July 2 and the college has hired the Boston law firm, Bingham & McCuthen to investigate him.

According to his biography on Merrimack Athletics, O’Keefe oversees the day to day operations of the Athletic Department. He formerly held the positions of  associate director of athletics, and assistant athletic director for external relations at Merrimack.
